Girl's night out (this was a few months ago)

This post is for my friend, Courtnie; who I haven't seen since May. She was in Romania on an Augsburg band trip when I left for New Zealand. And the day before I came home she left for California! (I thought I was going to be home before she left). She's doing a research program at Berkeley for the summer, I'm so proud of her! She's done August 1st and I'm so excited to see her. I love you Courtnie!

There she is, hello gorgeous!

Aquatennial parade

On Wednesday night, Allen and I went downtown to the annual Aquatennial torchlight parade on Hennepin Ave. I had never been before (not that I can remember anyways) and there were a ton of people. The parade was really long and I had to go to the bathroom the whole time! I was going to use an outhouse, but a lady angrily came up and told me that the back of the line was that way. I said sorry and we kept walking. As with most parades (at least here in MN) the police are at both the beginning and end of the parade.

MN's finest

Cops on horses, notice a theme here?

It was a perfect night for a parade! I'm not quite sure how to change my camera's shutter speed or anything, but I like how these photos turned out. One thing that we didn't see in the parade were any bagpipers. I love bagpipers in parades so I was a bit disappointed. It was still fun though!

More food

1st batch of mashed potatoes (a potato masher would have come in handy...ha!) But they were really good. I also roasted the garlic (in aluminum foil) along with the chicken. It was really good on the potatoes, but really garlicky!

1st chicken I've made besides drummies

Allen liked it a lot

Banana bread- take II (I doubled the recipe, can you tell?)

My Aunt Debbie gave me this book last week (she recently bought the new edition). I'm really excited to start using it! Thanks Debbie!

Take me out to the ball game

These are from last summer, 2008, when I had super long hair!

Us now, summer 2009, we both have shorter hair!

Goofing off. My face indicates the nasty smell that I was smelling practically the whole game (until we left around the 7th inning) It smelled like either urine...or old beer on the floor. Ish! Allen couldn't smell it as much as I could, lucky for him!

It's the last year in the dome! :(

Sisterly love: part II

More modeling from Char, more not-modeling from me.

These flowers were not actually this color...and I didn't do anything to the photo
